Welcome to 225 Photography {the blog}! I'm Amanda - crazy about my husband, our four kids, and photography. I specialize in maternity, newborn, child, family, and senior photography in and around Baton Rouge.
My style is clean, simple, and fun. I believe a portrait session should be fun so expect to laugh, joke and be silly during our time together. Take a look at recent work here on the blog and if you like what you see, get in touch to schedule your session.
The following are photographs of my sweet little nacho after he experienced the joy of chocolate pudding for the first time. I love the glob of pudding in his hair dripping onto his right eyelid. I think he enjoyed it just a little.
the weekend was:

milkshakes in the afternoon just because
running through sprinklers
starbucks on the comfort of my stoop in my pjs
4 loads of laundry
cleaning house
bickering with some whining thrown in for good measure
pizza
snuggles with the nacho
fistfuls of flowers picked
too short

I recently met Kristen for an afternoon session and the camera loved her! She is incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and extremely photogenic. I’m only halfway through editing this session (there are soooo many pictures!) so be on the lookout for more images from this session next week!

1. Normally I don’t like pleats of any sort but this pleated dress and the vintage platform shoes make me want to lift my ban on pleats.
2. Want to add a bit Pride and Prejudice style to your life? Look no further than here. And while we’re on the subject, which P & P movie do you prefer? Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy in the BBC’s version or Keira Knightly’s version?
3. Focaccia bread. This recipe is soooo good!
4. This Toronto duplex. Love, love, love the abundance of natural light. And of course I love all the little details and vignettes too.
5. Glee. Are you watching? Don’t let the musical thing throw you – personally, I’m not a fan of musicals but this show is worth watching. I have to get my weekly fix of Sue Sylvester!

just a quick sneak peek for an anxious mama. this precious baby will be the first girl for this family and judging from her mom’s excitement, she will be very, very loved.
Victoria is one of my Senior Reps for the Class of 2011. She is very involved in the anti-human trafficking organization and will be traveling to Europe this summer to do more research on this issue. She is also sweet and full of determination (a wonderful combination) and she is most definitely going to make a mark on the world!
Victoria, I can’t wait to meet up again in the Fall for our follow up session and hear all about your travels this summer!

Another inspiration post, this one inspired by finds on Etsy. Not familiar with Etsy? Etsy is a treasure trove of handmade and vintage items from clothing to cookware and everything in between. I apologize in advance and advise you to hide your pocketbook.
I came across this first hairpiece, the Coral Reef Bloom, and *swoon* fell in love with it. A few more minutes spent poking around Etsy and I found the perfect dress as well as a beautiful necklace, and an alternate hairpiece and there you have the makings of a beautifully styled shoot.
