I recently spent a Friday in New Orleans on a commercial photography shoot and had such a wonderful day. I’ve been going through those images and came across some that I took just because so I’m sharing. This is my first shot of the day, on the way to the bar (not that I drink on the job, it was part of the shoot). I love the mini Chewbacca in the bottom left of the window:

By late afternoon we had made our way to the CBD and into this old photography studio. It is has recently been turned into a mill so on the ground floor there were bags full of miscellaneous stuff, old tvs, umbrellas, etc. all covered in saw dust. These last two shots were taken in the mill. The shoes, probably my favorite shot of the day. I can’t explain why, I just loved seeing them hanging there.

Last shot of the day, second floor in the mill. I could have set there all afternoon by those huge windows listening to traffic sounds and watching the light change.

I even managed to score some old film developing tanks and reels, an enlarger, filters, and rolls and rolls of old Kodacolor VR film that expired in 1986 and should yield interesting results.

PS: If you’ve read this far, there’s a contest coming Monday. Stay tuned for details!
